Sparki 1.0.5.4-c

With the latest revision I see:

  1. RGB Yellow not working
    this should produce yellow: sparki.RGB(255,255,0);
    instead I get red. Yellow worked in previous versions of the installer.
    I do get red, green and blue to work properly (and cyan (0,255,255));

  2. Turn angles are off
    Does anyone know a correction factor so that
    sparki.moveLeft(90);
    actually turns 90 degrees?

Also, my magnemometer reports a wide range of numbers on all axes.
e.g. sparki.compass(); reports 0…270 even though its moving in a straight line.

It would be nice to have these issues fixed in the next version.

My magnometer is faulty so I am not getting any good readings at all, but I believe the motors will create significant magnetic force when they are running which will affect the magnometer readings. So they are propably only reliable when the Sparki is not moving. Secondly there is a bug in the magnometer code which sometime creates of the scale readings from the magnometer. You can either create a filter function which filters out these extreme readings or you can manually patch the code by moving this line out from the function: github.com/ArcBotics/Sparki/blo … i.cpp#L723
and declare the buffer array globally instead, this prevents it from being overwritten by any other function.

To correct angles I have been using 1.055 see the code sharing post. The polygon plotter uses this correction and with my Sparki the polygons close (well almost).

I am new to the sparki and have just installed the version 1.0.5.4 - c. For some time I was able to set the serial port, but now this option appears greyed out. I have installed it in a win7 home premium 64 bit. Any ideas why this option is now disabled?
I tried a reinstall, but without an uninstall which did not help, however it was able to download code to the sparki using manual upload. This is difficult to do all the time and I would like to have it working with serial port setting.

This is now solved. I had to reinstall the drivers and was guided by the chat on the home page.
Thanks
