Bluetooth Option not working

Hi

After going thru a few hurdles, I managed to get the Bluetooth module working with the Hexy board. Unfortunately, I still cannot control Hexy.

I ran PoMoCo and got the following message:
Attempting to connect to Servotor
Connect Successful! Connected on port: /dev/tty.ArcBotics-DevB
initilizing servos
servos initalizied
sent ‘#0L’ to COM2
sent ‘#1L’ to COM2
sent ‘#2L’ to COM2
sent ‘#3L’ to COM2
sent ‘#4L’ to COM2

As you can see, PoMoCo successfully connected to the Bluetooth module but how come I still cannot control Hexy, for example, issuing a ‘Get Up’ command?
I have no problem using the USB cable.

Please help! Thanks.

I hate to ask simple questions, but are you sure the batteries are connected? There’s obviously communication happening.

If so, are you able to send individual commands via the arduino terminal?

Yes, the batteries are connected.

the issue is solved but I do not what happened. I now manage to get a response from a serial terminal when I type 'V’
So, after reconnecting everything and changing fresh batteries, I am able to control Hexy by BLE!

Thanks!

Hexy likes extra batteries when being controlled via Bluetooth. Typically, if you’re just using AA batteries via the “Servos” connector on the Servotor32 PCB when commands get sent to Hexy via Bluetooth the dip in voltage tends to cause the Bluetooth module to reset.

Best solution seems to be to run the “Logic” port from a 9V battery, with the “Servos” powered from a set of 4 AA batteries. Good luck!

ditto, guide on that here:
