Bluetooth range

Hello everybody,

I was able to connect to Hexy with bluetooth and to make it walk, dance, etc., but when he’s about 5 meters away from my mac, it looks like it simply lost the signal, so I have to move closer and launch PoMoCo again.

At first, I was assuming it was just too far, but I’m not sure about that, all I know is that red led starts blinking and Hexy freezes, so my question is:
Is it possible that I’m having connection issues independently from the range of the bluetooth sensors? Maybe something related to serial ports?

I’m on a mac with OS X 10.7.5, PoMoCo and the Servotor firmware are both up to date.

Thank you

5m sounds pretty reasonable for a Bluetooth link, although I must confess that I’ve not stress tested my Hexy when on wireless.

As an antenna engineer, however, I can say that the simple answer is to use a directional antenna on the non-Hexy side of the link, although for the life of me I cannot think of a Bluetooth device that I’ve seen with an external antenna…

Just what I was thinking, thank you for solving my doubts

Actually 5 meters are enough for me, just wanted to be sure there wasn’t other problems, thank you
