I have just built my Hexy and updated the board to 1.7. Everything works great when it’s connected to the USB with 5xAA Alkaline connected to the servo power plug. It gets up and dances with PoMoCo and I found good offsets for all of the servos. Here’s my problem… It says in step 9 of the build instructions, “Using either the short or long clip, connect a battery holder to the servo plug on the controller. The controller should display a steady green light. A smaller red light should pulse dimly for a bit, flash brightly once, and then disappear.” This doesn’t happen for me. I’ve tried 4xAA and 5xAA connected to either/both of the power ports but no LEDs light up until I connect the USB.
Have you tried both ports? (servo and logic). This would help me determine the nature of the problem
I have tried to connect both the 4 and 5 cell battery packs to either and both ports in every combination. At first, I followed the guide of connecting the 5-cell to the Servo port and that didn’t work so I tried the other port, then the 4-cell pack, then both packs at the same time and then switched them. The lights only come on when I connect the USB cable. Thanks for any help of what I could try next.
Do you have any other ideas? If this board is dead, I’d like to return it to Make before it’s been to long. Thanks.
