Conection problems (win 8.1 / win 7)

I tried with 2 computers, one with win 8.1 another with win 7.

After disabling the “unsigned driver install” from win 8.1 x64.

I could install the latest versions of Arduino sft and drivers, but problems started.

With Arduino opened and sparki connected:

Win 8.1 and win 7

Sparky initiates with little green and red light and a bit later 2 green ones (a smal led and the bigger one)
The suposed arcbotic sparki does not apear, although a “valid” COM port does apear. (other boards apear)

Win 8.1, pluggin in sparki, windows does give a litle sound notice (win 8 notice usb is plugged in), but no drivers are searched or installed (nothing happens realy when plugged in, or out).
Win 7, With sparki plugged in it starts searching drivers but after a while it simply notifies sparki is not connected (little red cross on driver instaler menu), although sparki IS connected.

Arduin software was installed and all drivers where notified as installed (both pc´s), sparky runs around when ON.

I suppose it should work on both versions, what am i doing wrong?

(sorry for the bad english, its not my language).

Thanks.
Chris.

If you using version 1.0.5.4, SparkiDuino will have problem recognizing Sparki since “ArcBotics Sparki” is not in the “Board” list. I am using Win 7 but using the “Board.txt” file from version 1.0.5.3 and everything works fine.

The “borad.txt” file is now fixed in version 1.0.5.4a. Re-download the installer from website and re-run the installer.

Seems to be working.

One of the examples is the ir remote, loading this one, the remote should work?
Or do I need other item/soft?

At this point, it’s not moving with the remote.

The program that is preloaded in Sparki when you got it should respond to the remote. If you already wrote over that program, I would suggest using the “Restore_Default” sketch to restore it.

BTW, make sure you have removed the clear plastic battery protection tab from the remote as noted in the Sparki Getting Started documentation.
