Grip Head

Just a thought or idea of replacing Hexy’s original pan head assembly and convert it to a Grip head instead as shown on the pictures below.



This can be a good addition to Hexy’s kit or an upgrade!

I’m still figuring my way to make the code for the Grip Head.
Do you have an idea for it?

There are plenty of spare servo ports on Hexy’s controller (Servotor32 PCB), just don’t use 0-3. If you replace the neck servo with a gripper, you should simply be able to open/ close it with commands like:

So what you’re saying is to create another “move” for Hexy? But the head requires 2 servos to move the neck and the gripper. That’s something I need to think about…

My next goal is simply replacing the head sensor with a grip head. I’ll post some videos as soon as I’m finish ordering the parts and creating codes.

Ok I’ve been thinking why not use and modify some of Hexy’s front legs and turn it into a gripper arms instead, so I came out this kind of idea…

I need your help, I remember someone in this forum mentioned that you created a hexy quadruped before and how did you manage to move it forward using only four legs?

We made the physical proof-of-concept prototype, but never got around to programming movements, sorry :frowning:
