Hexy 'n Modkit?

What is Hexy’s software environment? It’s Arduino-based, right?

If so, is there any chance that it could work with Modkit? modk.it/ is an open source IDE (which recently did a successful Kickstarter, so you have that in common) for Arduino development that makes it as kid-friendly as the Lego Mindstorms, which feels like a natural fit with Hexy. I know that my 7 year old son would LOVE to be able to program Hexy after building it.

Kids are a major focus for us. We plan on eventually working with the people behind miniBloq:http://blog.minibloq.org/, who we already have a relationship with. ModKit, while really nice, isn’t open source, and is fairly centered on the english language, where as miniBloq is design to be international. 70% of our orders are export, 40% of our web traffic goes to german-speaking countries, 15% to russian.
