Powering Hexy

Hi All,

I am powering hexy off of a 3A constant voltage power supply. I am seeing >3A for hexy when all 18 servos are active and the voltage drops (significantly) on the power supply. Note some servos are in motion & some are just holding position. By my quick reckoning each servo is consuming ~500mA.

Has anyone calibrated the exact power needs?

We’re ordering some better current-sensing equipment to do a better power profile of hexy. Servos never typically draw more than 800mA at stall, and we see current usage spike to ~5-6amps while walking @ 6v. We’ll be sure to post the results of a more detailed analysis when we have one.
