Servo shake every 2.5 secconds

Hi i have been trying to get Hexy working for a week or two now and these are the problems i face and cant find a solution for :

When my battery pack or other power source is connected and connected to the serial trough usb the servo’s shake every 2.5 secconds. Some of the servo’s reacted by compensating for the shake going into a loop so shaking pretty hard.

Another problem that is maybe related in some way is :

When i do a move and afterwards do a set zero, some legs dont react and will only go back to zero after a couple of tries.

I have tried hooking it up to my pc with Ubuntu and a laptop using Windows and it reacts in excact the same way.

Servotor32 has firmware 2.0

Could the servotor32 be defective?

General shaking could be just due to the servo’s internal feedback loop. Careful if you see a lot of it as it’s a good way to kill servos. If it’s just done a move like Reset, try picking up Hexy and placing down again. I get strong shaking in a couple of leg hip joints when I do Set Zero and the legs aren’t dampened.

Are the unresponsive legs always the same ones? You could try playing with the sliders to see if there is a genuine problem communicating with the Servotor32 and each servo. I’m running 2.0 firmware and don’t see that issue using an Ubuntu netbook and USB control.

The 2.5 seccond shake is just being connected to USB program not started or anything… No moves at all just moves on all servo’s at the same time at 2.5 secconds.

No the set to zero is not at all regular, sometimes only one leg will go to zero somtimes two. Moving all sliders individually will give the responses you would expect.

it doesn’t sounds like your Servotor32 is doing the right thing at all, at least for complex commands. Perhaps first step is to try re-flashing the firmware, or an older version…

Good idea, i tried version 1.7 after that the same problem.

Flashed back 2.0 and still the same problem, i have tried different combinations, only one servo attatched but still every 2 / 2.5 secconds the servo moves.
