Servo Shudder in one direction

Hi Guys,

Received my Hexy yesterday and just spent the last 30min testing all the servos. All the servos work and have full range of motion, however out of the twenty there are 4 four which continually shudder when the Pomco slider is any value greater than 1501. The shudder is very minimal but it is continuous. Anything below 1500 is rock solid with no shuddering from any of the servos. There is a handfull which occassionaly shudder above 1501 but this is not 100% consistent.

I’m on firmware 2.0 with a USB PC connection from Windows 7 x64 with servo power from 4 freshly charged Eneloops.

Now the question is, are the 4 servos faulty or is the behaviour within bounds for this servo type.

Just out of curiosity, did you try moving those servos around (to other sockets) to verify that it was a servo problem and not some odd software timing thing that depended on the socket number? (That’s probably not the problem, but…)

Hi Alastair,

Yeah I tried a couple of different port numbers and got the same problem. The good performing servos worked fine on the tested ports as well. Its really weird that they only shudder going clockwise. Anticlockwise all the servos just go to the set position and stop.
