Servos Jitter Continuously When Testing

I have started my Hexy build and assembled one leg without issue!

On my second leg, however, I ran into a potential problem. When centering the servos, both servos sat there jittering continuously instead of centering. Curious about this, I tested ALL of my servos, and found this issue with 6 of them - the rest centered without issue.

I thought maybe updating the board to 1.7 would help, but the same problem exists with these 6 servos after.

Is it possible I have faulty servos?

this heppens to me too.I think it is a bug in the code

I would think if that’s the case, it would happen to all servos, or at least be intermittent between servos. The fact that it happens consistently with specific servos (at least in my case) makes me suspect it’s a problem with those servos and not the code.

The problem ended up being over voltage - I had 5xAAA batteries connected as the how-to guide for building the Hexy accidentally showed this setup. Showed this to Arcbotics and they are sending me out replacement servos as some of them had been permanently damaged by the higher voltage!

That sounds exactly like what happened to my servos.

I was using the same battery setup according to the howto. Who should i talk to regarding replacing the servos?

I emailed info@arcbotics.com. I would check them with 4 batteries though as most worked once I switched.

We had a documentation error in the how to, using 5 batteries can potentially damage servos, and definitely causes jittering. Try it with a 4 pack, and if you find that the 5 pack caused more permanent damage, contact replacements@arcbotics.com.
