Hello Hexapoders
Is there a single dxf, or in fact any format drawing, with all of Hexy’s parts in one place?
I know the parts are on github but couldn’t find a complete drawing.
I have received my kit but need to recut some pieces so thought I might as well cut the whole thing again make a custom hexy!

I had a couple of pieces that the laser hadn’t quite cut through fully, or that were a little oversized for the slots that they needed to fit into, but all this could be solved with a craft knife/ file.
Of course if you’re going to cut some new parts anyway, this information won’t help at all 
No, we don’t post a complex production DXF. The most efficient pack varies wildly depending on the size of the acrylic you’re using.
I can offer you this DXF, but with some caveats:
- This was put together for waterjetting, so the parts spacing might be wider than you need for a laser
- There are a number of extra parts not needed for a single Hexy kit
- This DXF is intended to be cut from a 24"x12" piece of 6061 aluminium
- The tab holes in the kit have been enlarged slightly from the thickness of the production acrylic to a true 1/4" width, as 6061 is generally closer to the measurement whereas the acrylic is slightly undersized.

Thanks Toni, your dxf is exactly what I was after! I’ll measure my acrylic and test out the tabs, I’m going to use extruded acrylic so hopefully the material tolerances will be close and more accurate than the originals. Have you made a aluminium Hexy? guess the servos would need upgrading… you’ve tempted me now!
Having the files in one drawing make it easier than having to open and combine all the individual ones
Rpcook - sounds the same as the parts I received, rough edges, not cut all the way through, and also on some parts it looks like they have been cut twice, probably as it didn’t cut all the way through one the first pass. Fortunately I have a laser so I thought it will be quicker just to cut the parts again to get a smooth finish.
