Spare Replacement Servo Gears?

So, I lost two servos while performing basic maneuvers, basically the the same gear on each broke apart.

I was able to replace them by scavenging fom some old servos, but I’m thinking it would be wise to stock up on some spares.

Is Arcbotics planning on offering these?

A quick search revealed this supplier, but I wanted to check here first.

I’ll speak to the manufacturer, its likely we can get them pretty cheap. I’d probably sell them in 5 or 10 pack to make the shipping worth it.

That would be perfect! I’ve already replaced 3 gears so a 10-pack sound practical!

I’m guessing the top gear on the idle axle was the one that broke. Two of mine have broken already, so a 10 pack would be a welcome option.

In the mean time are there any spare servos available?

Hi Sandro, I tried to disassemble 3 of the broken servos and found out they all have same gear broken, si that what you mean the “top gear on the idle axle”?

I have either made a huge mistake (well more parts for maybe a laser pointer singer tail if it does not work for the leg) or I might have found some spare parts.

The specs look the same (except for the carbon fiber gears) which I am having a hard time understanding at our breakage rate is working all that well.

So, not so much a waste of money but could be a waste of time testing on a leg.

Arcbotics have confirmed that replacement gears will be made available for sale once the manufacturer delivers them.

So what servo on the leg is the one that is breaking gears?

I will say mine broke on the hip… if to continue that analogy the bot has a foot, knee and hip.

so that would be the servo that connects the leg to the body?

If that is the case then maybe redesign that piece to take a metal gear servo, then that would only require the need to change out 6 servos.

Rather than just replacing the gears to have them break too, I’d want to know the root cause for the breaks.

Are the servos faulty?

Does the hip joint carry too much weight for the servo to handle?

Is gravity on the leg causing too much horizontal torque on the hip servo to cause stress on the vertical axle?
